- 01Simply put, it’s heaven on Earth for people who love board games. More specifically, it’s an annual event in Basel that focuses on modern board games.
- 02What kind don’t we have? Our board game library features 600+ games (we know, we’re bananas...). This includes pretty much every genre, play style, theme, game length, player count, and age group. We dare you to not find a game you’ll love!
- 03A loose and simple definition could be: "any board game published after Catan." In contrast, "classic" board games include Chess, Pachisi, traditional card games, Go, Monopoly, Scrabble, Clue/Cluedo, The Game of Life, Trivial Pursuit, UNO, Risk, and other. Modern board games typically emphasize strategic decision-making, immersive themes, and balanced gameplay. They are often designed for a wide range of players and feature innovative mechanics that set them apart from traditional games.
- 04Maybe. Probably. But if you really want to be sure send us a message.
- 05Of course! If your main concern is finding someone to play with, we’ve got you covered! Near the game library, you’ll find balloons. Take one and place it on your table. This signals to others that you’re looking for more players. You can also join someone who’s already looking for players, participate in tournaments and activities, or try out one of our solo-player games (yes, we have a few of those too!).
- 06Yes, it is not necessary to know the rules of the game to participate in the tournament. The rules will be explained at the beginning of the first round.
- 07Of course!
- 08At the moment, we don’t have an open call for volunteers. However, if you’re truly interested in working with us, feel free to send us a message. We’d love to hear from you!
- 09Yes! We offer a selection of beverages and snacks. Additionally, we partner with excellent food providers who will be selling lunch and coffee on-site.
- 10Please inform one of our volunteers immediately. They will note the game and the missing or damaged piece so we can contact the publisher to request a replacement.
